Setting a new precedent for contemporary living, Tierra Design,\u00a0<\/strong>a\u00a0multidisciplinary and multicultural Architectual and Landscape design practice,<\/span>\u00a0gave birth to\u00a0Villa Mayavee,\u00a0<\/strong>undoubtedly one of the finest homes on the island of Phuket<\/strong>. With a premier address in Waterfall Bay on the millionaires mile<\/strong> in Kamala<\/strong> and peerless amenities, this masterpiece is a showcase of state-of-the-art design<\/strong> and architecture<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

A House Full of Nuances<\/h2>\n

Whilst dreaming of a singularity of vision, Tierra Design<\/strong> conceived this private residence located on the west coast of Phuket. Villa Mayavee\u00a0<\/strong><\/strong>embodies a multiplicity of seeming contradictions and nuances; site, brief, experiences and cultural typologies.<\/p>\n

Set within the undulating terrain of the island, Villa Mayavee <\/strong>is\u00a0remote from the established areas of tourist endeavors and within a secluded private estate. Whilst offering\u00a0panoramic views of the Andaman Sea and on the surrounding hills, the site also overlooks\u00a0a lush tropical landscape.<\/p>\n

Reflecting\u00a0a combination of containment and expanse, Villa Mayavee\u2019s<\/strong>\u00a0four level \u2018z\u2019 shaped form of the building is sited in the middle of the site, creating distinct spatial experiences.<\/p>\n

The development estate\u2019s granite cobbled terrace walls are extended to weave and form an arrival and podium for the residence. With the building elevated, a forecourt is created by the landscape, guest building and elevated living wing. The entry reflection pond shadowed by the living span above, forms a threshold between the forecourt and the expanse of the ocean beyond.<\/p>\n

Limestone clad walls, with their expressive horizontal jointing pay homage to the beauty and clarity of the sea\u2019s horizon. Interpreting the traditional typology of the Thai residences; with separate pavilions but having a unity as a whole, the living wing (connected by a\u00a0 glass enclosed spiral staircase from the pond), is distinct from the\u00a0 complex. The linearity of the volume, the transparency of the glass enclosure, light stone interior and the kitchen islands reinforce this traditional attitude expressed with modern articulation.<\/p>\n

The charm of wood, associated with meticulously appointed Asian touches affirms the spirit of Zen, experienced upon entering Villa Mayavee<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The adjacent two level guest wing separated by terrace, is experientially connected to the forecourt landscape and surrounding mountains. Views of the sea are intentionally limited by framing from within its\u2019 teak clad and screen enclosure. Its\u2019 separateness is part of the client\u2019s brief to provide a private house within a house. The interior volumes are generous and well appointed with finely detailed stone floors and walls and fittings.<\/p>\n

In contrast, the Master wing is configured for privacy with the master wing separated from the guest wing by the kitchen, dining, entertainment and reception areas.\u00a0The master wing features its own private swimming pool, a sumptuous dressing area, a beautiful library and an office. The bathroom is a sanctuary of peace molded from the finest marble and stone and offset with polished chrome and wood. Commanding views of the Andaman sea greet you every morning and the peace and tranquility is truly inspiring.<\/p>\n

Following the terrain of the site, the pool and social spaces are stepped below, offering privacy from the entry but open to views of the sea. The pool traverses the site and while generous in scale, is distinctly secluded by its\u2019 connection with the site\u2019s rocky outcrops and landscape.<\/p>\n

The lush gardens and the incredible vistas cradle Villa Mayavee<\/strong> in a magnificent green and blue embrace that never ceases to inspire wonderment.<\/p>\n
