Cessna Aircraft Company<\/strong>, part of the Textron Aviation<\/strong> segment of Textron Inc.<\/strong>, announced in March a new aircraft<\/strong> to add to the company\u2019s popular line of Cessna CJ-series jets<\/strong>. In May,\u00a0Cessna\u00a0<\/strong>celebrated the rollout of the first production unit of the Citation CJ3+<\/strong> at the company\u2019s manufacturing facility in Wichita, Kan.<\/p>\n

Latest avionics, cabin and cockpit<\/h2>\n

It\u2019s well known that Cessna<\/strong>\u2019s Citation<\/strong> series of jets<\/strong> are one ot the most popular line of business jets<\/strong> ever produced, with more than 6,600 jets<\/strong>\u00a0designed, manufactured and delivered to customers around the world.<\/p>\n

\u201cToday\u2019s rollout occurred just two months after the announcement of the new CJ3+<\/strong>, showing our strength in investment and certification of new products,\u201d said Chris Hearne, vice president, Jets. \u201cWe are eager to get the CJ3+<\/strong> into the hands of customers later this year where they will benefit from the upgraded Garmin G3000 flight deck and incorporation of the latest Citation<\/strong> cabin features.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kriya Shortt, senior vice president, Sales and Marketing, adds\u00a0: \u201cThe CJ3+<\/strong> is another example of how Cessna<\/strong> listens to customers to deliver an aircraft<\/strong> that meets their aviation<\/strong> needs now and in the future. Customers are already pleased with the CJ-series<\/strong>, but they also appreciate the new features of the G3000 system. Combining all these avionics features with a fresh new interior and other significant upgrades strengthens an already powerful jet<\/strong> and makes its value proposition even more compelling for customers.\u201d<\/p>\n

This new aircraft<\/strong> includes all-new interiors with a redesigned cabin and cockpit, new pressurization and new diagnostics systems. Moreover, the CJ3+ <\/strong>features the Garmin G3000 avionics suite, which includes turbulence detecting weather radar, TCAS II, advanced Terrain Awareness Warning Systems (TAWS), and the installation of automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast (ADS-B) capabilities.<\/p>\n

The addition of ADS-B capability makes the CJ3+<\/strong> compliant with a significant aspect of announced Next Generation (NexGen) air traffic control requirements. The aircraft<\/strong> also features a wireless media server, Garmin integrated cockpit and cabin Iridium phone, and high speed internet capabilities.<\/p>\n

With its range of up to 2,070 nautical miles, the CJ3+<\/strong> can fly nine passengers nonstop from Washington, D.C., to Mexico City; from San Diego, Calif., to Juneau, Alaska; or from Lima, Peru, to S\u00e3o Paulo, Brazil.<\/p>\n

The CJ3+<\/strong> is expected to receive Federal Aviation Administration certification during the second half of the year.<\/p>\n
