Designed by renowned creative director\u00a0<\/span>Marc Atlan<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong>together with the architectural studio\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>Oller & Pejic<\/strong>, the Black Desert House<\/strong>\u00a0is located in southeastern California, in Joshua Tree National Park. At first, it seems impossible to integrate a residence intro this intriguing landscape\u00a0without compromising this exquisite scenery.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

However, the architects<\/strong> at\u00a0Oller & Pejic<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0were up to the challenge.<\/span><\/p>\n

A privileged location<\/h2>\n

Beyond shelter, Black Desert House<\/strong>\u00a0is an artistic counter-point to a landscape born of fire, and sculpted over the last\u00a0100 million years.<\/p>\n

Conceived to read as a shadow cast within great piles of monzogranite boulders, the Black Desert House<\/strong> offers\u00a0the quintessential desert<\/strong> experience: immersion into the timelessness of the vast desert panorama.<\/p>\n

By day the Black Desert House<\/strong>\u00a0protects like a cave; at night it dissolves in the surrounding array of stars. Informed by the modernist aesthetic, the geometry\u00a0of the structure minimizes distractions, while curtain glass walls eliminate indoor-outdoor distinctions.<\/p>\n

Black walls, midnight quartz, high-gloss anthracite, and darkened steel are used to contrast the harsh desert<\/strong> sun and draw attention to the constantly changing color, light and shade.\u00a0With the dark color and angular expression, the Black Desert House<\/strong>\u00a0becomes an almost cave-like element of the scenery, an element that, at nightfall, completely dissolves into the surrounding darkness.<\/span><\/p>\n

The public spaces open\u00a0to the sheltered entry courtyard, broad view terraces, and the private swimming pool. Sited at a cooler elevation of over\u00a04000 feet on 2.5 acres, the Black Desert House<\/strong>\u00a0includes open plan living areas, 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, and a 2 car garage.<\/p>\n

The Black Desert House,\u00a0<\/strong>this\u00a01,570 square foot desert<\/strong> oasis, is available to rent for fashion shoots, advertising, and even as a film location rental.<\/p>\n
