Ateliers Louis Moinet<\/strong>\u2019s Vertalor<\/strong> is ushering in a new aesthetic era. Featuring a tourbillon with a cage hung beneath a three-armed gold bridge, Vertalor<\/strong>\u00a0embodies the creative independence of the Ateliers Louis Moinet<\/strong>, celebrating their tenth anniversary this year.<\/p>\n

Creativity, unicity and authenticity<\/h2>\n

The Vertalor<\/strong> expresses all the technical and aesthetic quintessence of Ateliers Louis Moinet<\/strong>, and is one of the finest expressions to date of what makes this independent maison<\/em> based in Neuch\u00e2tel so singular.<\/p>\n

The Verlator<\/strong>\u00a0also marks the first time that a tourbillon cage has hung from a three-armed bridge made from solid gold. The architectural theme of suspension continues with the Vertalor<\/strong>\u2019s barrel, the cover of which also hangs from a gold bridge.<\/p>\n

The two series of Vertalors<\/strong> (28 in pink gold, 28 in grey gold) also embody the power of a design that has become the hallmark of Ateliers Louis Moinet<\/strong>: a sculpted case surrounding a dial revealing the technical beauty of the tourbillon.<\/p>\n

The latter is positioned at 6 o\u2019clock and features a new hand whose tip, in the form of a luminous star, owes nothing to chance: it harks back to Mr Louis Moinet<\/strong>\u2019s very own design for the Julius Caesar clock (1825).<\/p>\n

At 12 o\u2019clock these gold bridges make room for a more open, reworked barrel. Its cover features an open-work sun motif. At 6 o\u2019clock, the tourbillon, hanging from the three bridges above, is suffused with light. Between the two, the winding cog can be seen, a witness to the human interaction with the crown and barrel that provides the watch with 72 hours\u2019 power reserve.<\/p>\n

The assembly is arrayed in an Ateliers feature that has become legendary: a broad dial embellished with a C\u00f4tes du Jura pattern. Two slightly curved open-work hands sweep across it, with the famous \u201cDew Drop\u201d tips that have also become part of the brand\u2019s aesthetic signature. A fragment of moon meteorite adorns the centre of the dial, at the centre of those distinctive hands.<\/p>\n

At 9 o\u2019clock rests the Fleur-de-lis, the emblem of Ateliers Louis Moinet<\/strong>. This completely redesigned, enlarged, mirror-polished applique detail denotes both Louis Moinet\u2019s place in the course of history and his native town of Bourges.<\/p>\n

The eight curved, diamond-cut hour markers embody both technical prowess and a powerful aesthetic message \u2013 arching above the dial, they help to create a distinctive relief effect in this symbiosis of technology and design.<\/p>\n

Technical and authentic<\/h2>\n

In the very finest watchmaking tradition, the mechanical movement is manual wind. Set at 3 Hz, its generous three-day power reserve makes the Vertalor<\/strong> suitable for busy modern-day life.<\/p>\n

The assembly is firmly anchored to a distinctive case, designed and patented by Ateliers Louis Moinet<\/strong>, that is to be found in each of its collections. The case alone has no fewer than 59 parts. Front and back are made from sapphire glass, providing a breath-taking view of the hand-finished movement.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe wanted a timepiece that would pay tribute to Louis Moinet<\/strong>\u2019s style, particularly that of the School of Fine Arts, where he taught on his return from Italy,\u201d explains Jean-Marie Schaller, CEO and Creative Director of the Ateliers.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Vertalor<\/strong> brings together the very essence of our present-day identity: it\u2019s a radiant watch that highlights both technical achievement and the quest for aesthetic balance, complete with its Dew Drop hands, C\u00f4tes du Jura dial and many applique features. With such a wealth of details, producing this timepiece was especially exacting.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 47mm-diameter Vertalor<\/strong> will be available in white gold and pink gold versions. Leading collectors have lost no time in taking possession of the first models.<\/p>\n
