{"id":14306,"date":"2015-05-01T09:00:42","date_gmt":"2015-05-01T07:00:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.themilliardaire.com\/en\/\/?p=14306"},"modified":"2015-04-23T11:12:59","modified_gmt":"2015-04-23T09:12:59","slug":"airbus-helicopters-h160","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.themilliardaire.com\/en\/jets\/airbus-helicopters-h160-14306\/","title":{"rendered":"Airbus Helicopters unveiled its all-new H160"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In one of the industry\u2019s most anticipated events, <strong>Airbus Helicopters<\/strong>\u00a0presented its all-new <strong>H160<\/strong>, raising the standards for performance, cost effectiveness, passenger comfort and environmental impact to create the medium-class rotorcraft benchmark.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"new-corporate-identity\">New corporate identity<\/h2>\n<p>The <strong>H160<\/strong> opens a new chapter in the history of <strong>Airbus Helicopters<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>As the first product introduced with the <strong>Airbus Helicopters<\/strong> corporate identity and its new numbering designation, this 5.5-6-ton-class rotorcraft\u2019s nose-to-tail breakthroughs in design and systems exemplify the company\u2019s transformation plan that puts customer satisfaction and operational safety first.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Airbus Helicopters<\/strong> unveiled the twin-engine <strong>H160<\/strong> at the Heli-Expo industry show\u2019s opening in Orlando, Florida, where a full-scale representative model was being displayed on the company\u2019s exhibit stand.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe<strong> H160<\/strong> represents <strong>Airbus Helicopters<\/strong>\u2019 strategy to provide the most efficient solutions for our customers, who serve, protect, save lives and safely carry passengers in the most demanding environments,\u201d said President Guillaume Faury. \u201cWe are driven by this mission, because what is important to our customers is essential to us.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"innovation\">Innovation<\/h2>\n<p>The entire design of the <strong>H160\u00a0<\/strong>was based on one overriding goal: to create added value for customers in terms of performance, economic competitiveness, safety and comfort. Both cleaner and quieter, the <strong>H160<\/strong> takes a step forward in respect for the environment.<\/p>\n<p>Indeed, the <strong>H160<\/strong> brings form and function together in a highly stylized rotorcraft, which integrates as many as 68 different <strong>Airbus Helicopters<\/strong>-patented technologies.\u00a0With a cruise speed of 160 kts., the <strong>H160<\/strong> can carry 12 passengers at distances of up to 120 NM. for oil and gas missions, and a 450-NM range with 20-minute reserve in public service or search and rescue tasks.<\/p>\n<p>The distinctive design of the<strong> H160<\/strong> includes two <strong>Airbus Helicopter<\/strong> firsts, both offering improved performance and flight stability: the largest-ever Fenestron\u00ae shrouded tail rotor, which is also double-canted at 12-deg. angles, further enhancing anti-torque control efficiency; and the all-new Biplane Stabilizer\u2122, whose unique design involves a staggered placement of the dual-level, interconnected stabilizers.<\/p>\n<p>An additional <strong>H160<\/strong> technology breakthrough is <strong>Airbus Helicopters<\/strong>\u2019 initial production use of its Blue Edge\u00ae main rotor blades, which reduce exterior noise levels by 50 percent (3 dB) and also allow a payload increase of up to 100 kg. when compared to traditional rotor blades, depending on flight conditions.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, the <strong>H160<\/strong>\u2019s integration of <strong>Airbus Helicopters<\/strong>\u2019 Helionix\u00ae avionics marks its latest application of the first digital avionics suite to be fully designed and integrated by a rotorcraft manufacturer.<\/p>\n<p>Operators will benefit from the increased safety that Helionix\u00ae provides through reduced pilot workload, enhanced situational awareness, improved flight envelope protection and system redundancy.<\/p>\n<p>As the first helicopter to be released under the new <strong>Airbus Helicopters<\/strong> identity which fully representative of the company\u2019s core values of excellence, agility, unity and integrity, the<strong> H160<\/strong> introduces the company\u2019s new way of naming its product lines in line with its transformation.<\/p>\n<p>The helicopter\u2019s first flight will take place in 2015 and service entry is planned for 2018.
