Leica M 246 Monochrom Jim Marshall: a special edition in homage to photography and jazz worlds
Leica, world-renowned specialist in high-end cameras from decades now has now decided to pay homage to Jim Marshall’s talent, with a “laiton” limited edition that appears to be as rock’n’roll as the former photographer.

For these who don’t know who he was, Jim Marshall was jazz and rock stars’ most appreciated photographers as he has accompanied them all along his life to capture the most precious instant of the biggest artists. These 50 M246 Monochrom Jim Marshall sets understand the new brass plated Leica M Monochrom with a matte “Laiton” finish and an inscription of Jim Marshall’s autograph directly embossed on the camera. It is provided with a Summilux-M 50 mm f/1.4 ASPH lens and a unique book provided by Jim Marshall Estate. But we will speak about that later. Finally, to immortalize the launch of M246 Monochrom Jim Marshall, Leica shop in Los Angeles will expose some of Jim Marshall’s best photographs taken all along his life in his favourite jazz clubs and festivals, as well as some of the artist’s most precious artefacts like the famous Grammy through July 31st! Then, Jim Marshall’s former assistant will attend to comment some of the greatest photos and his friend and former festival photographer Bruce Talamon will also join the exhibit to testify of Jim Marshall’s impact on photography’s history.
