Les Maisons de Baumaniere: an acute sense of happiness

Les Maisons de Baumanière is an elegant resort at the foot of the village Les Baux-de-Provence where you can stay in style in 3 Relais & Chateaux : l’Oustau de Baumanière, La Cabro d’Or and Le Prieuré. You can also enjoy the Spa Baumaniere or the bistro La Place. Each establishment carries on the Baumanière philosophy : “Belles manières – beautiful manners, the art of living and of welcoming everything and everyone with an acute sens of happiness.”

L’Oustau de Baumanière

Both gastronomic institution and elegant country inn, l’Oustau de Baumanière, a 5-star hotel in Provence, represents the Mediterranean art of living at its discreet, unostentatious best. The Baumanière domain stretches out languidly at the foot of Les Baux-de-Provence. Its historic centre, L’Oustau, nestles in a peaceful, untouched landscape. Next to this elegant artist’s house, are the 2 Michelin-star restaurant, the large swimming pool and the Baumanière gift shop.

About 500 meters away, on the other side of the olive grove, the Guigou is a pretty country house with a charming little garden and a beautiful view of the village. A little further, 900 meters away, is the discreet and imposing Manoir. Guests can relax by the pool and in the shade of its garden arbor, or take a gentle stroll through the French-style gardens.

With 30 rooms, l’Oustau de Baumanière is the ideal backdrop to the art of hospitality practiced for over sixty years by the family who owns Baumanière.

The Cabro d’Or

The Cabro d’Or, a large Provencal farmhouse set in a 2-hectares park, is an illustration of simple beauty that has all the mediterranean charms. Here in the narrow valley of Les Baux de Provence, the Alpilles mountains have a look of Tuscany about them and the spacious gardens of La Cabro d’Or add their own exotic note, with lush, colourful plantings that provide a vivid contrast to the jagged white rocks of the Val d’Enfer.

Attractive and luxuriant outside, the Cabro d’Or is soft and light inside. It combines the spirit of a 16th century farmhouse and the comfort of a hospitable and contemporary hotel. The Cabro d’Or offers seven junior suites, five suites and thirteen rooms in which all the grace of Provence combines with elegance and discreet modernity. The luminous rooms, often located on the ground-floor, offer access to private terraces and gardens that are created by Geneviève Charial and given over to Mother Nature to nurture.

In its fresh and lively decor, the dining room and terrace of the Cabro d’Or offer an ideal setting to delight in the honest, refined cuisine of the Michelin star chef, Michel Hulin.

Le Prieuré

Just a few minutes from the heart of Avignon, this 5-star Relais & Châteaux is a subtle blend of past and present. Hidden in the heart of the village of Villeneuve-lès-Avignon, its serene atmosphere and spirit invite you to relax and unwind. The admirable renovations and redecorating carried out on this 14th C building by Jean-André and Geneviève Charial in 2007, have afforded it simple aesthetics and luminosity, bestowing a harmonious unity to the past, visible in the original stonework, and the present, represented by the modern furnishings.  Le Prieuré breathes an air of rare and simple charm.

In the gastronomic restaurant of Le Prieuré,  regale yourselves with the refined Provençal flavours of the cuisine of our Chef Fabien Fage, rewarded with a Michelin star in 2010.

Le Strato

In Courchevel 1850, where the world of prestige and luxury is a norm, the Strato Hotel offers something else.  It certainly has the comfort and the elegance of a prestigious hotel but it has also an atmosphere of a vast residence, like a contemporary family chalet, with large fire places, cosy chairs and constant reminders to the Maisons Baumanière.

La Place

Committed to responding to the expectations of his clientele, who wished to take advantage of the culinary savoir-faire of Baumanière, Jean-André Charial opened a bistro in Maussane-les-Alpilles, near Les Baux-de-Provence, in 2005. La Place does not give itself grand airs, but its reputation for simple dishes prepared with gourmet flair has already spread throughout the region.
